Long-distance move from California to New York

Very poor experience and shady practices.

Let me start by saying that it doesn't surprise me that certain review sites have noticed that a large number of positive reviews for this company originated from a single place.  Below is my/our experience when moving my fiancee and I from Cali to NY. My experience with this company can only be described as abhorrent at best. Dave, the sales guy, was very eager to make the sale.  Before the contract was signed, it was very easy to get a hold of him to answer any questions.  Before making my final decision to choose West Coast Movers, I asked REPEATEDLY if the price I was quoted had any risk of changing.

Dave explained to me that as long as the information I provided him regarding what items being shipped was accurate, the price would not change. That said, the items I listed were precisely what was shipped.  During pickup, the workers who showed up dropped the mirror for my dresser, smashing it into a million pieces.  They called their manager who informed them to tell us to just file a claim with their insurance.  Not too long after dropping the mirror, they dropped my bathroom cabinet, which also broke.  I received a phone call for the delivery, and scheduled for 8/8.  I took the day off from work in order to make myself available for the delivery only to be stood up and told that the delivery would have to be rescheduled.  Not only did I lose a day's work (and pay), the delivery guy proceeded to explain that he needed an additional $400 in order to complete the delivery.

He claimed some nonsense about he can't park the truck on the street and would need to rent a smaller vehicle to make the run. The information he provided not only contradicted what Dave told us (that the price would NOT increase - guaranteed), but we see large trucks on our block all the time and it`s never been a problem.  When attempting to reach Dave regarding this issue, Dave answered his phone only once to pass me off to "Customer Service" (Cheryl), who attempted to defend the charge by saying it was MY responsibility to know beforehand whether or not a truck could park on the street.  Even after confirming there`d be no issue with the local precinct (as instructed by Cheryl - why didn`t SHE do this??), the driver still refused to make the delivery without using the smaller van. Delivery day arrives and one of the first boxes that arrives on my doorstep was marked FRAGILE, but looked like it had literally been passed through a shredder (refer to pictures).  They had all of the boxes mixed up.  Some were labeled during pickup and were supposed to go to destination 1, while the rest was supposed to go to destination 2. He re-assembled the bed at destination 1, then proceeded to get the remainder of the stuff to deliver to destination 2. At destination 2, he complained about not knowing about a flight of steps and said that he wasn`t getting paid for it.

The flight of steps was CLEARLY disclosed to Dave who said there would be no extra charge for it.  A phone call to Brittany (Customer Service) confirmed this. Later that evening I climbed into bed and laid down. The bed collapsed The guy who put it back together did not include a support beam, which caused the strips under the mattress to split right down the center (refer to pics). Incredibly, just about every piece of furniture that was moved encountered some type of damage, whether it was a scratch or a break.  What wasn`t damaged during the move was lost altogether (i.e. my dinette table with the missing glass top). Customer service had been horrible; all they ever say is "file a claim".  After waiting months for my claim to be processed, they offered a whole $78.   Stay away from these guys!

Long-distance move from California to Kentucky

Amazing company.

I could not have dreamt of a more perfect move. Eric quoted me at a price of around $1800 for my move from Ca to Ky. They got to Kentucky with my items right when he said they would in flawless condition. The quote came in at right around what he told me. My experience with West Coast was incredible. I'd reccomend them to anyone looking for a very reliable and affordable company! .

Worse mover ever!

Where do I begin..
After waiting 3 weeks for my items, they were delivered by a complete DB who had brought his 13-year-old daughter. He had her literally helping drag my things off the truck. I was at work so I could not keep an eye on them. When I came to see how they were doing and maybe offer some water, I realized a couple of my items were busted up and he literally had dragged my mattress up a flight of stairs. Needless to say, he took zero responsibility and told me if you don't like it file a complaint. At this point, I was very worried as to the condition of the rest of my belongings.
As feared almost everything was broken and at the very least badly damaged. I did phone the company and the person I had arranged my move with Ashley. They gave me the runaround and at the end even with all of the photos of broken item and badly battered moving boxes and 4 months of "don't worry we will make this right" Concluded they will not be reimbursing me one red cent!
I am now in the process of a lawsuit against west coast movers. I am told I have a pretty good case and their reputation is quickly becoming one that will put them out of business. One can only hope! A monkey could have done a better job!

Long-distance move from Arizona to Illinois

West coast movers.

Unfortunately I have had bad experiences with movers previously.  I went with West Coast because they seemed the best of the worse and they went by cubic feet and not weight.  which meant I did not have to follow the truck to a weight station but was able to see for m yself the amount of cubic feet my items took up. this was a piggy back move.
Number one DO NOT WORK WITH JERRY.once he has your business he will never ever return a call and it gets dumped on CHERYl who is excellent, She did not make excuses but worked hard to resolve the issues.  DO NOT WORK WITH JERRY!! Jerry said once my stuff was picked up maybe 2 weeks at the most before its delivered. It was 23 days before delivery.  First of all they said they'd be there on a Friday afternoon, after numerous calls by m e to them I finally got an answer they'd be there Saturday morning but would call first, Saturday afternoon still no call, they finally came at 7:00 p,m on a Saturday night. I had to call them never did Jerry return my calls I worked with Cheryl going forward.  Cheryl compensated me for my inconvenience I called West Coast movers on a daily basis trying to see when the truck was actually going to leave this went on for 3 weeks. When it did get on the truck going cross country the service was excellent Sergay answered calls, was very professional, and helpful.
If you don't mind waiting a month for your items, and you DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT WORK WITH JERRY BUT WORK WITH CHERYL, you should have a good experience, but be prepared to make a lot of calls and emails to get results.
Not sure if there are any 100% reliable movers out there.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

No call, no show, no room for our stuff, lie, over charge, scum!

I don't usually do reviews. But this company west coast movers really deserves one.  Spoke to Cheryl several times. Seemed really nice. Gave them exact amounts of boxes, the sizes and was extremely thorough. Even called to update when we added or deleted items. We are on a budget. Was quoted $3007.  Moving day came! We had a call the night before saying they would be there between 9-10 am. 11 am rolls around and no call no show husband calls and they told us they overslept. I can be understanding but if I showed up for work 5 hours late, that would be my last day, so 3 pm rolls around and we finally have two guys show up in a truck that is almost full. We are a family of 5 that have lived in a home for 10 years. There was no way all our stuff was going to fit. They assured us it would.  Moving went well on into midnight, this meant we missed our going away dinner with family and friends which was a bummer. I asked jack the mover/supervisor?? I had 3 extra boxes and a kids wagon that was going to be extra and how much did he think it would be? He said no more then $300 at the most.  Well 12:30 am rolls around and surprise, surprise only half our stuff fit into the truck. He also gave us a bill for $1100 more then our quote. They also stickered items in the garage that we told them specifically not to. It was obviously trash or staying with the house. We put all the items to be moved on one side.He said there would be a second truck first thing in the morning because they had one in the are! Big lie! We were supposed to be on the road at 6 am to leave for our jobs! The whole purpose of the move. We were promised that they would be in the office at 9:30 am if we had any problems or questions, so Sunday, no call, no show!! No one at the office, no one returns a call even though that is a work day. Finally, around noon a dispatcher calls us back with the news that there never was a truck in the area and one won't be there until Tuesday. Real nice! I am beyond pissed at this point. They have jeopardized everything and now we are leaving our home we love under stressful situation, we are tired and have an 18-hour drive with 3 kids ahead of us. We then had to inconvenience other to come wait hours on Tuesday for the second truck to show up. Also, my bid went from $3000 to $4200! [EDIT]? For 3 boxes and a wagon? I don't think so. We finally got a call from Britney a supervisor after waiting days. It's so funny how technology works when they want your business, but when they screw up no one has cell phone computers or everyone is on a day off, no matter what day of the week.  So we get to texas and we promise our items that weekend. Wel you guessed it no call, no show. Just holding our furniture hostage. Then they don't know who said what or why and everyone has memory loss there. Also when someone says "I will look into it and call you right back". That means nothing.  So we finally got our furniture on a Friday night. They movers who looked like ex-cons from Russia finally left at 11:30.  Apparently fragile glass this side up means stack upside down on the bottom of the heaviest objects.  I love that our $4000 temp orped inc brand new bed looks like it was in an accident on the highway and skid 100 yards, the power box is broken so they just hooked it up quietly and set it on the floor. Really nice. Broke a $350 ceiling fan, bent the front forks and wheel on a bike, broke an antique table, tore the wheels off my treadmill and left them n the street, I have beds to be put together since thy will not put kids beds back together, well the screws and dowels for all 3 of my kids beds did not make it. So now I have 4 broken beds.  It wasn't fun living without furniture for 2 weeks, that was supposed to be here within a day or two of our arrival.  So if you want broken furniture, shady, lying movers who break things and don't say anything, and a company and its employees like, Brittney, Jack, or Cheryl, who don't keep their promise, over charge, do not return calls say what you want to hear but don't deliver and are not accountable, and all point fingers and blame each other, then I highly recommend them. Otherwise, save your money and frustrations. This was one of the most frustrating events ever! They don't care about your time, money or valuables!

Long-distance move from Utah to California

So Sorry I used West Coast Movers.

I can hardly put into words the awful experience I had with West Coast Movers. I'm surprised they are still in business. The only good thing I can say about them is that they gave me a good price for our move, but was it worth it to have nearly 1/3 of all our belongings damaged? We used them to store our things in Las Vegas for a few months before the items were delivered to California, but everything looked like it had been shoved around a warehouse all that time - items were just destroyed. This company said they would call to let us know when they would arrive for pick up and delivery - they didn't do this on either end. Then they wouldn't return calls when they didn't show up on the scheduled delivery date, and when I finally got a hold of them that evening, they said that their truck had broken down. Why didn't they call? So they figured they would just deliver the next day, but I had flown to California for the first delivery and had a flight out the next day! We had to reschedule, and when we did, they wouldn't confirm the date even though I called back again and again. They acted like they would just deliver whenever they could squeeze us in the back of the truck. When I finally confirmed a delivery date with them, and I was expecting them to arrive in the morning, they showed up in the early evening with a truck that didn't have a functioning light in the back (West Coast Movers doesn't have their own trucks, they use Budget rental trucks) so they were only able to unload a couple of items (which were all damaged) and they said they would return at 8am the next morning. They returned at 11am the next morning because they had to pick up some day laborors! Are you kidding? I paid for professionals to move our furniture, not random day laborors from The Home Depot parking lot. It took them until 5pm that day to finish a job that was supposed to take a few hours - we only had 168 items! These are only a few of the upsetting events of those months. I was so glad to be done with them a year later when they finally sent my settlement check (they told me over and over again that they had already sent it). I received just over $100 for all that they destroyed and all that we went through. Seriously beyond a joke.

Long-distance move from Nevada to Michigan

Gave our deposit back. Because they made a mistake.

Decided to use West Coast Movers to move our daughters belongings back to Michigan. Not just Michigan but the upper peninsula of Michigan. They were aware of the distance. We did all the things you normally do for a move. Provide a list of all boxes, furniture that was to be moved.
Talked to Mike several times and asked about the bad reviews and he said you know the Internet. And that he also stated that they were seeing some of the people who wrote those reviews. Ok.
So decided to go ahead and schedule this move with them. Gave them a deposit.
Mike called us back 15 minutes later and said I made a mistake. We don't go that far. And we would lose money. Sorry. No actually he didn't say that. So they deposited our money back to our bank. Which by the way took 3 days.
Now we worked with this mover for at least a month. Shouldn't they realized that they didn't come this far. Poor business practices.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Horribly Unprofessional.

Www.westcoastmoversusa.com/ ‪#‎westcoastmovers‬. I am HIGHLY disappointed in your (lack of) service. I booked 3 weeks in advance for a move from Long Beach, CA to Waxahachie, TX. I paid a deposit to guarantee my pickup. The pickup was scheduled for Wednesday May 6th 4-7pm.Casey (nice guy) called me a day ahead to go over a few things with me. Suggested I get TV shipping boxes for my 60 & 32 inch flat screens but insisted that I do not remove them from the wall. They do that to insure the safety of the TV and of us. I thought WOW what great service!! So.. We finish packing all day and we put all of the boxes in the garage to make it easier for Casey to move. We left my bedroom group and my sofa/chair in the apartment (and aforementioned TVs).4:30pm rolls around and I still had not recieved that "2 hours out" text that Casey promised me. So I text him "ETA?". My scheduled departure was immediately following Casey's departure as I have horses arriving Saturday and I start my new job Monday. I recieved a phone call within the next 5 minutes from dispatch saying Casey's truck was full and would not be able to pick me up. There was no other truck available for that day. Mind you I was turning over keys. This was not just MY schedule there are many others involved here.Dispatch tells me they will pick up Friday. They will call Thursday between 4 and 7 with Friday's time.No call Thursday.I call several times Thursday night, no answer.I call Friday a few times.. Left a message. Finally I get a call back. We can't pick you up today. Sunday (Mothers Day) or Monday. We'll call you.No call Saturday. I called several times.Sunday after a few calls I am told pick up will be Monday, they will call later with the time. A few hours later the other dispatch girl (I seem to be working with 2 who don't talk to each other) calls and says the truck is one hour out. So I scramble to get someone in Long Beach to be there (Mothers Day). Mabel cuts her family dinner short for YOUR convenience. Then I get a call saying that It will NOT be in an hour but a few hours (4pm).THIS GUY they send calls me a few times sounding drunk or something, slow maybe? Having trouble locating the place. WOW. OK. GPS? When he gets there he says he has to park down the street and charge me for it. I told him to double park, there are 3 lanes that go thru there and that is the ONLY way to do it. It is the way that it's done. He argued with me. He argued about EVERYTHING. He was rude and belligerent. I ended up telling him to just leave it.I called the office the next day. Kayla (one of the dispatchers) said she'd call him and get right back with me. She didn't. I ended up calling again today, Wednesday the 13th.She acts like she has no idea what's going on. So I reminded her. I asked for my deposit back. She said because I didn't cancel 7 days in advance she couldn't give it back. YOU were the ones who didn't show up on my scheduled day! YOU are the ones who rescheduled 3 times. YOU are the ones who sent me an unprofessional rude driver. She said she discussed it with her manager and that it was agreed that I would not get it back. I said maybe I should talk to the manager.. She hesitated then said she'd see if he was available. Put me on hold. When she came back she said she could only reach them by email and that the owners were out of the country and difficult to contact. then said SHE is the customer service manager and that she can't give me back my deposit.I am a VERY PISSED OFF non-CUSTOMER. I will be cross posting this on EVERY review site I can find including YELP. I will yell loud and clear for all of the world to hear. BBB, Yahoo, U-Ship, transportreviews, consumer reviews, etc.

Items late, damaged & stolen!

They underestimated by five thousand dollars.  our items were ten days late & when calling to inquire they actually hung up on us twice.  We spoke nicely to get our stuff & still got the hang up.  When items arrived the delivery movers were not enthusiastic to unload as the packers to pick up.  They huffed & puffed about taking the cardboard & plastic off our beds & couches saying 'we still have one more job'!  One of our biggest wooden furniture had a fist size hole in it and we had 7 velvet cased Silver Dollar Coins all stolen.  The velvet boxes were there but the coins in their plastic protective case stolen!  We made a claim back in October 2014 now it's May 2015 with no word or solution to date. .

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Worst moving experience EVER!

Movers didn't show up until middle of the afternoon and didn't finish packing until early the next morning.  Didn't come properly prepared to pack and had to go purchase more boxes. After loading the truck notified us that the cost would be almost double.  Customer service was TERRIBLE at responding and lied ALL of the time.  Continuously stated that the truck was on it's way, and then the next day someone else would say it hadn't even left yet.  When my furniture finally got to the house so many things were damaged or lost/stolen that I don';t have enough space in this post to list them all.  Pictures were thrown in boxes together, no wrapping.  The screws were removed from my bed and lost.  My electronics were packed with food that rotted in the boxes.  My childrens' piggy banks were broken, money fell out of the boxes and the unloaders picked up the money and PUT IT IN THEIR POCKETS! Customer service did not return my calls after leaving multiple messages.  Claims is still "processing' an no one is doing anything.   NEVER TRUST WEST COAST MOVERS!

Long-distance move from California to New York

Worst Moving Company.

I have worst experienced with West Coast Movers and I highly enjoined others who are victims of this company to file complaint against them to protect our rights. The company at first estimated our stuff per list we gave them at 475 cubic feet with a total cost of 1,800 dlrs so I deposited for them to pick up our stuff at Santa Maria, California. The driver name Jake after loading our stuff made the final estimate of our stuff at 950 cubic feet with total cost of $ 3,325. At that time I was already in New York so I protested the estimate of the driver but he told me that I have to call the office . Worst of all the driver have my brother signed the bill of lading without telling him the difference and told him everything is alright. Upon knowing I immediately called the office but nobody pick up the phone and they never return my call so again I called the driver to unloaded my stuff because I do not agree with the final estimate much the cost which is almost double the original estimate and cost but the truck already out of Santa Maria so I could do anything except to pay in order to have unload our stuff at New York. Lately I filed a complaint with the US Dept of Transportation and I intend to filed a lawsuit against West Coast Movers to protect my rights as a customer. I know this is an uphill battle against a big company but truth and justice will prevail..

Lied To, Overcharged, Damaged Items, No Accountabilty.

I requested an online quote for moving our household belongings. The salesperson Glenn (out of Las Vegas) was as friendly and professional as anyone in my position would want to speak to. After finding out that my husband and I had recently moved our own household from AZ to UT in a 26' U-Haul truck, and asking a few questions to verify belongings, he stated he felt very comfortable giving me a quote of $5000.00. He stated he had a lot of experience at this, and I should expect the quote to vary "at the most a few hundred dollars", most likely in my favor. I asked about boxing and/or protecting large items. His response was "Not to worry about anything like that. They employed professional movers who would have the right packaging and protection for our furniture and large or delicate items. The quote arrived with a request to complete the inventory list. Unfortunately, I could not access the list. After 3 additional email conversations between Glenn and I, and my inability to still obtain an inventory list online, I sent him am excel spreadsheet of my household items and he completed the inventory list. After reviewing his inventory list, I signed off on it. After doing so, I remembered I had not seen the wheelbarrow and the BBQ, so contacted him to add. At that point, the quote went up to $5046.00. The day of the move I was not home, and the young men (not professional movers!) advised my husband that they did have special packing for the televisions and mirrors, however there would be an additional cost associated. Glenn hadn't told me that?? At that point, what else do you do but agree to the cost and hope it is not too much. The additional packaging added $600.00 to the quote. After loading the truck, the young man presented my husband with an invoice for $8400.00, $3400.00 more than the original quote! When my husband asked why, it was due to having 3 bulky items, 1 being the living sofa which was on the list. I don't know what the other 2 were. As my husband stated, what do you do? Do you tell them to unload the truck and leave? He certainly did not know, so he signed and paid them $3950.00. Obviously, when he told me, I was not happy and attempted to contact Glenn. My call went to voice mail and I left a message. (1/21/16) - During our travel 1/22/16 thru 1/26/16, I left 2 more messages for Glenn.Tuesday, 1/26/16, the 2 young men show up, obviously in a hurry. They did not unwrap or unbox any of the items they had boxed up, as we were told they would do. We were told they would reassemble all items. There are multiple dents, dings and scratches in my headboard and foot board on master bed, a broken leg on our antique stereo, another broken leg on the TV stand, 2 crystal bowls shattered, a shattered mirror dresser mirror, and as of today, a broken decorative clock.
I finally received a phone call from there General Manager, Angela, who said all the right things, and made me believe she cared and would investigate this personally. 1 week later, I still have heard nothing except the response to my BBB complaint, which states they stand by their response that this was my fault.

Sales good, job bad.

The movers who packed me up were efficient. However, they left a huge mess in my room with tape and tape rolls everywhere. Then, delivery to my new home across country took three weeks after I requested it to be delivered. When they delivered my stuff, the movers were in competent and couldn't manuver their truck to my storage unit where I have been assured by the storage unit it has been done. Additionally, they ROLLED UP MY MATTRESS after they picked up my stuff while it was in their possession. I am thoroughly displeased with the whole experience. I would NOT recommend them even if they were cheaper, which was the ONLY good thing about them.

Do NOT use this company.

Moving is stressful enough but when you use this company it will be a horrible experience.  At least it was for me!  I was quoted $7500 but ended up being charged over $18,000!  They knew the # of boxes and the number and type of items, beds, etc.  They kept telling me my bedroom set, etc was larger then most and that is why it was costing more.  You don't know charge until truck is finished being loaded which was at 10pm!  The guys loading everything were nice and professional.   The guys uploading were NOT!!  They showed up 4 hours late, the movers were wearing flip flops!!  They used one of my items (a statue) to keep the door open which ended up damaged.  The moved furniture to get boxes thru but refused to move the furniture back in place.  The stated they were just they to deliever!!  I asked one of the movers if he worked for company or was a contract employee, he informed me he was just picked up off the street!!  So much for experience/professional movers!!  Several items were damaged.  In talking to manager, he acted upset by my experience and told me he would get back to me inwhich he never did nor would he return my messages or texts!! Don't be fooled by quote..it will end up costing much more $$ in move and in damages let alone frustration!!

Dreadful.

They arrived late for the pickup.  After loading, they quoted me a price twice the original estimate.  I have contacted them 3 times regarding the delivery date.  Each time they make false promises about when they will deliver.  I asked to speak to a supervisor, got an answering machine and left a message.  No response.  I am beginning to wonder if I'll ever get my delivery.

They are robber.

In the beginning, I asked the company for a free quote of long distance moving. I told them the size of my stuff was about a one bedroom apartment. Then they gave me a price which is about $1700 with full pack serivse, so I decided to use them for my moving. However, when the mover came and packaged everything in the truck , they told me it is larger then what I told about, so they needed to add the price. After they calculated the price , the price grew up from $1700 to $3800. How they could be that much. And they also didn't tell me about the long distance carry. The distance from my home to the truck is over 75 feet, and that will be long distance carry, and they will charge me $100. Why didn't they tell me in the beginning. They also didn't tell me that they will charge $100 for elevator. My home was super close to the elevator, and the elevator door is also the gate to go out of the apartment. How do they measure that as long distance carry? I also call the customer service and there is always no person response. Even if you leave a voice message, no body will call you back. And when the movers delivered my items to my new home. They charged me another $300 for shuttle. And when I checked my items in the packaged box, I find that my items was stolen. My new router was stolen. My usb hub was stolen, My small money box was stolen. My COACH bag was stolen. My laundry cart was broken. My remote for heater was stolen. My gate remoter was stolen. My vaccum was broken. Two of my earphones was stolen. My flashlight was stolen. And some small items in the boxes was stolen. A lot of packaged boxes was opened, it seems like someone opend my boxes and find some worth items and just stole the items for money!! These guys are cheater and thief. Oh, sorry, robber may be much better for the guys.

West Coast Movers should be avoided at all costs.  The actual movers that damaged my property took immediate responsibility for problem when confronted.  They explained that they would fix the problem in the next couple of days.  This was confirmed by Felix, introduced as the supervisor.  After months of avoiding calls, missing appointments and stringing us along Felix finally showed up at our home.  He was 2 1/2 hours late and within 1 minute he explained that it was not his problem because the gentlemen that moved us were subcontractors.  When I showed him a text from one of the movers acknowledging responsibility for the damage, he told me it was not his problem. Felix has his employees well trained not to give out his phone number and to be as evasive as possible.  I feel certain that with further investigation one could find a number of poor or illegal business practices at west coast movers.  Save yourself a great deal of hardship and keep Felix out of your life.  He is dishonest, unprofessional and, in my opinion, a crook. .

Long-distance move from Arizona to Idaho

Not very professional or truthful.

IIf you are planning on using this company shop around. I booked them 6 weeKS in advance to make sure my pick up date would be exact as I has to make hotel reservations. I contacted them to advise of items to remove from the inventory list & other ones to add. Spoke to sales person Kassie, very nice, and she quoted me 2 prices; 1) if they packed the house (that God I did it) 2) the price if I packed it. I chose to pack the house myself.
I wanted to make the move as easy as possible for the guys showing up on 7/1 @ 4:00 pm so I made sure everything was broke down, shrink wrapped, and in only 3 rooms, the living room the dining room & the garage. TVs were down & wrapped & shrink wrapped by me along with many other items. 20 minutes before the 4:00 pm pick up I received a call from west coast movers that the truck was full from the previous clients & he wouldn't be arriving. I wad in complete shock. I had to rearrange the hotel reservations (and wasn't charged) & was told that maybe, yes maybe a truck (box truck) would be there Thursday or Friday. Again complete shock. Remember I booked this pick up 6 weeks in advance and a truck was not available? Finally, I get a call saying that they found a truck in Scottsdale and should arrive at my place between 12:00 & 3:00. Well, that time came & went. Finally at 7:30 a box truck with the name of West cost movers duck taped on the side of the doors shows up. My stomach sunk and I knew then there was going to be a problem. By 10:00 pm they still hadn't loaded the truck because the paperwork needed to be done. Umm, it's a 3-hour drive from Scottsdale to my house, one would think the paperwork would be ready to go, nope. Then you have to pay 1/2 of the amount for the move or they don't start. Talk about making someone feel like a thief! We (4 of us) moved all the boxes out ourselves to the truck so they could start loading. Nope more paperwork & an inventory list, hand written and little sticky numbers put on the box. I get the color coding but 2 people should of been doing this not one. I was also told that a "crew of guys" would show up to help load the truck nope, it was 2 of my friends and myself. At 11:30 pm I had to leave because I'm moving my mother of 90 years of age the next day. My friends stayed behind to make sure the truck got loaded. At 12:00 am I get a call from my friends that the driver said they were leaving but would be back on Friday to finish up. I was livid. First of all, you're a day late & arriving late and now leaving to finish up on Friday? They left & returned back at 1; 00 pm on Friday to finish up but didn't start loading around 3:00 pm. Finally, a job that should of taken maybe 8 hours to load took 2 days and we did all the work! The driver stated he was only allowed to drive 500 miles a day and be couldn't drive anymore that day. I told him it's not the miles you cover it's the hours you log & drive.. duh
I'm told that the delivery would be 7 to 14 working days before our items are delivered. I'm blessed to had another house to drive to. We drove the next day 775 miles with 2 cats & a packed SUV to our destination. At 8:00 that night I got a text that they finally finished and were leaving.
Today 7/11 the semi arrived and was loaded. However not all our items were on the semi as they wouldn't fit and we found this out because on the inventory list there were missing items. Also, someone else's items were mixed in with our items. So this new driver calls a magical phone number & finds out the rest of our items are on another truck and should arrive in 7 days.
as we unpacked the boxes some rattled and I knew items were broke, furniture that was wrapped by west coast movers had irreplaceable broken legs, snapped in half. We're missing a few expensive pieces of furniture that are supposedly going to be in the other truck because they had no room. Here's a rocket science idea, don't put other customers items Mice with our items and you would of had rook for our items.
again, we are in convinced. Oh, and the executive director I spoke with took a whopping $100 dollars off the $4900 bill. So we'll see the difference with the claim is filed with the pictures of broken & lost items.
The executive director was rude, uncaring and really just didn't give a crap about our stuff. After all, it's just a job to her with no care of personal belongings to the customers that hire West Coast Movers.
You're a horrible company, rude, inconsiderate, have trouble with the truth, and contact with very rude drivers. The drivers that showed up today were pretty cool.
So if you're thinking of hiring this company, DONT, RUN & pack it yourself. I'm so sorry 8 hired West Coast Movers and should have listened to the other documentation written here about West coast movers.
HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Long-distance move from California to Arizona

Nightmare of a company.

You are a fool if you use this company for anything! They are liars and thieves. I went on movers.com and Giovani from West Coast Movers called me back. He talks a slick game and gave me a price of just under$1200 for a move from Irvine, CA to Flagstaff, AZ. That is just under 500 miles. They were supposed to be there to start on a Monday morning. They did not show up until a day later. Be aware that they charge by cubic feet (a scam). Binding estimates are apparently based on 400 cubic feet. Sounds like a lot of space but it is only 10 x 10 and 4 feet high. Your one bedroom apt will not fit! That is when you will see your supposed rate triple! They will do everything they can to increase the space used. The under $1200 price that Giovani had given me ballooned to $3600 for a one bedroom apt. Giovanni also told me that the same drivers that loaded the stuff would be the ones that would deliver it the next day or two. LIES!! It all went to Las Vegas where it was unloaded and stored for a week while the person moving to Flagstaff is sitting in a motel wondering when her stuff will be delivered. After over a week they finally decided to deliver the stuff to Flagstaff. The crew they sent were full of attitude and very unprofessional. They just dumped and dropped boxes wherever they wanted and not where they were asked to put them. My friend asked them to be more gentle with the boxes and to stop dropping them on the floor. The moving guy replied "Don't tell me how to do my job." That is when thing went from bad to worse. She got mad and words were exchanged and the police were called. The police would not do much as it was a civil matter. The end result was that the movers repacked some of the items that were already unloaded and LEFT THE JOB. Three beefy movers said that they felt threatened by my friend who is a skinny 97lb female even though the police were there. Her stuff ended up in storage in Flagstaff and it took 1 to 2 weeks to get it delivered and another $700. Stuff was broken and most of the non-perishable foodstuffs were gone. Boxes had been opened and stuff stolen from them. Several hundred dollars worth.
This company needs to be put out of business. They are one of the companies that give movers a bad name. Do not expect any help from their rude and uncaring and unprofessional customer service department. They don't care!!
It ended up costing me $4300 and about three weeks to move my friend from Irvine, CA to Flagstaff, AZ. Do not be stupid! Avoid this company at all costs. They are West Coast Movers out of LasVegas.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Nevada

Great Moving Company.

I had an excellent moving experience and I wanted to give credit where credit is due. I was actually referred to west coast movers because my sister was moved by them. Their is nothing better than a family recommendation. I moved three weeks ago from New Jersey to Nevada. I called the same representative at west coast that helped my sister. In fact I spoke with a few representatives and all were nice and treated me like family. Very nice/polite..Also knowledgeable and professional. He took my info and also details about move. He spent time very patiently and explained all thoroughly. I felt really happy and at ease..He mentioned that they do thousands of moves yearly..He explained that I would only be charged based on how many cubic feet I would need in truck and that my cubic foot rate would never go up. He also told me that moving based on cubic feet is the only way anyone should do a move and no one should ever do a move based on weight since you never know when you do a weight-based move what you will pay till days after your items are picked up versus knowing upfront your charge upfront when you do a move based on cubic feet..He gave me what I thought was a great price..Just for my peace of mind I called 6 other companies and westcoast was the lowest price. The movers arrived on day promised and wrapped and loaded my items..My quote was accurate. In fact a hundred less than quoted! All items were delivered quickly. I was so pleased that I found no damage. I would highly recommend west coast movers of Las Vegas..

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Fast delivery.

Great Job!  After talking to what seemed like 100 different companies I choose these guys based on price..usually a bad decision.  This time it worked out for me.  I received a promotion at my job and along with that came a new home.  My move was unexpected and immediate.  It was probably my most nervous I have ever been.  Thank you again Mark - my awesome rep.  I am loving Texas and my new job.m.

Long-distance move from California to Texas

Fraudulent company!!

Been planning to move my family to Texas to be with my mother who's health is in a bad situation. I've booked with this company for 1200 bux, well because they had the best prices! Gave them a 100 dollar deposit to reserve their truck. My date to be moved was set for July 16th and 17th. No call no show come the 17th which BTW is completely unprofessional. So I call them.. "Oh it's a window date our driver won't be back until 2am and will be there between 830 and 10 am for the 17th." So I move all my belonging out into the drive way in a 100 degree plus weather just to be told when I had to call again to find out where they are that the driver didn't get in till five am and that he will be there between 4 and 6 which was a lie I sat out there waiting till 9 pm with my things no call no show. So I call to cancel the company after reading reviews and didn't trust my life to go with this company and the lady tells me "would you like for me to call and see where the driver is?" Absolutely not! I want my deposit back please. Then she proceeds to tell me that the accounting department will return my money in 7-10 business days and I will receive 60 back due to the cancellation fee. WHAT CANCELLATION FEE YOU BREACHED YOUR CONTRACT!! So needless to say I contacted my attorney and the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU to report this company. Completely unprofessional and I haven't been able to contact the original lady Desiree since all this has happened she hides from your calls she has you programmed into the phone so she knows exactly who is Calling.. this company should not be allowed to operate and steal money from honest working people.
